Overview
A framework for mapping and arranging capabilities across the wider landscape, managing a portfolio of systems and initiatives in alignment with strategic intent.
At portfolio scale, the hardest problem is not any individual system — it is understanding how all the systems relate to each other, where capability overlaps, and whether the collective effort is actually advancing strategic intent. Without a shared map, teams optimize locally while the portfolio drifts. Harmonic Portfolio Management addresses this by making capability relationships, strategic priorities, and initiative dependencies explicit across the full landscape.
What Harmonic Portfolio Management addresses
Harmonic Composition gives a single system coherence. Harmonic Portfolio Management gives a collection of systems strategic coherence. It answers the questions that no individual team can see from inside their own system:
- Which capabilities exist across the portfolio, and where do they overlap or conflict?
- How do the current initiatives relate to strategic priorities — and how much of the portfolio is misaligned?
- When a new initiative is proposed, where does it fit, what does it depend on, and what does it affect?
- How do resources get allocated across systems when every team has legitimate competing claims?
Harmonic Portfolio Management is in active development. Detailed documentation — including the portfolio mapping model, capability landscape tooling, and strategic alignment protocols — will be published here as the framework matures.
How it relates to the other methods
Operates within a single system. The Coda each system works toward should reflect the strategic priorities that Portfolio Management establishes at the portfolio level.
Coordinates execution across systems within the landscape that Portfolio Management maps and arranges.
Operates at the outermost scope. Provides the strategic context that individual Codas and Orchestration layers should reflect and stay aligned to.
Overview
A framework for coordinating human and AI agents to execute against shared context across systems and teams.
Software Development Methodology
A software development methodology is the system of principles, practices, and primitives a team uses to plan, build, and evolve software. Harmonic Methods is a modern methodology built for the AI era, where agents execute and intent must be explicit.
